Invisalign Orthodontic Treatment

ivis02Invisalign® is an orthodontic technique to straighten teeth that uses a series of virtually invisible removable aligners. These aligners are custom-made specifically for your teeth only. Since there are no orthodontic braces and no metal wires required and the aligners are smooth and comfortable, your cheeks and gums won’t be irritated and there are virtually no emergency office visits required. It is truly an esthetic way of creating a beautiful smile.

Since the aligners are removable, there are no food restrictions whatsoever and brushing and flossing your teeth are easier than when wearing braces. As a result, you can still eat and drink what you want and you can brush and floss normally to maintain healthy teeth and gums. In addition, you have the option of temporarily removing your aligners for special occasions!

Wilk & Wilk Patient

Some Invisalign® patients will wear aligners just on the top teeth, some will wear them just on the bottom teeth and some will wear aligners on the top and bottom teeth. This will depend on the goals of orthodontic treatment being completed. The total number of aligners will depend on the severity of your bite, but the average number of aligners is usually between 18-30 and the total average treatment time ranges from 9-18 months. In our practice, we will often use two stages of treatment in our Invisalign® cases. The first stage will start the tooth straightening and the second stage will detail the final occlusion and finish creating your beautiful smile.

OFFICE VISITS

The office appointments with Invisalign® are flexible and can range from every 4 weeks to every 16 weeks depending on the nature of the orthodontic correction and our patient preference. Our patients with really busy schedules really enjoy the flexibility that Invisalign® introduces.

At Wilk & Wilk Orthodontics, many of our patients of all ages who wouldn’t have considered orthodontic treatment with braces are now comfortably watching their smiles improve with Invisalign® and Invisalign® Teen.
