Think Green

It’s not enough to prepare our children for the future…we must prepare the future for our children.
-Jill Buck, founder of the Go Green Initiative.

At Wilk & Wilk, we are aware of the challenges facing our planet and have created a series of goals to reduce our carbon footprint. In addition to employing the fundamental principles of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle in our day-to-day working lives, we have introduced other changes to make a difference.

Specifically, we use digital x-rays which reduce radiation by up to 90% and eliminate the need for harmful x-ray developing chemicals and have initiated changes to reduce the use of electricity particularly with the use of electronic devices like computers, printers, etc. throughout our office (set to their most efficient settings). We rely on as much natural light as possible throughout the office to reduce our energy consumption and are improving lighting efficiency by transitioning from incandescent lights to more efficient LED’s. We use as many environmentally friendly office products as possible and are moving toward a paperless office, which started in 2006 when we eliminated paper charts by switching to computerized charting. We also share as many documents as possible on a shared drive to reduce the amount of printed material and email as much information as possible with referring dental and specialist offices. When printed documents are necessary, we use 100% recycled content paper products and we also recycle ink and toner cartridges.

As Wilk & Wilk continues to grow and evolve, we will remain committed to amplifying our efforts to reduce our impact on the planet in the most responsible manner possible.
